OneWorld Classrooms is managed and run by a three-person staff and a broad network of teachers and volunteers.

Below is information about OneWorld Classrooms' staff.

Paul Hurteau, Director Paul is a former New York State high school English teacher. He also taught in Kenya and the Ecuadorian Amazon Rain Forest for a total of three and a half years between 1989 and 1995. Since 1991, he has conducted Arts in Education programs focusing on cultural understanding in hundreds of NY, VA, PA and CT schools. Since 1999, he has worked in schools on four continents to establish the Creative Connections Project/OneWorld Classrooms. He has also developed a wide range of related language arts and social studies-based online resources for classroom use.

Lilia Cai-Hurteau, Curriculum Development Specialist Lilia is a Chinese citizen with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Chinese Studies from East China Normal University in Shanghai and a pending Masters Degree in Curriculum Development and Instructional Technology at the State University of New York at Albany. As a Grant Research Fellow for the Durfee Foundation’s Chinese/American Capital Adventure Program in 2000, she researched Nushu, an ancient Chinese woman’s script, and examined the educational situation of rural minority Chinese women in southwestern China. As a WorldTeach volunteer in 2001, she taught English in a small Kichwa community in the Ecuadorian Amazon Rain Forest. She has served as the Creative Connections Project/OneWorld Classrooms Project Coordinator since 2002, establishing its China component in 2003, working in schools in the Amazon, the Galapagos Islands and Africa, and designing online content.

Robin Ambrosino, Project Facilitator Robin, a part-time freelance writer and a Media Specialist at the Alcohol and Substance Abuse Prevention Council in Saratoga Springs, NY, works part-time as OneWorld Classrooms’ Project Facilitator.

Susan Shanley, Teaching Artist Susan conducts Arts in Education workshops and residencies in conjunction with the OneWorld Classrooms in New York schools.
